Jaisalmer is a beautiful city located in the heart of exotic Thar desert. Also, famous as the golden city, as all the buildings are constructed with yellow stone and painting yellow. Brief - History
The city has an interesting legend associated with it, according to which, Lord Krishna-the head of the Yadav Clan, foretold Arjuna that a remote descendent of the Yadav Clan would built his kingdom atop the Trikuta Hill. His prophecy was fulfilled in 1156 A.D. when Rawal Jaisal, a descendent of the Yadav Clan and a Bhatti Rajput, abandoned his fort at Lodurva and founded a new capital - Jaisalmer, perched on the Trikuta Hill. Bhati Rajputs of Jaisalmer were feudal chiefs who lived off the forced levy on the caravans laden with precious silks and spices that crossed the territory enroot Delhi-or-Sind. These caravans earned the town great wealth.

SONAR KILLA - THE GOLDEN FORT
Jasialmer's main tourist attraction the stunning Sonar Fort, located in the heart of the city at the top of Trikuta Hill. The Fort was built in 1156 by the Bhati Rajput ruler Jaisal. The Fort has witnessed many battles. The for changes it colours according the the sunlight, during the day-time it has a tawny lion colour, It gets a lovely honey-gold colour as the sun sets. The must visit places are the Royal Palace, Laxminath Temple.

PATWAON KI HAVELI
Jaisalmer is famous for the gorgeous havelis - old mansions, Patwon ki haveli is the best haveli in Jaisalmer. It has very finely carved lattice work and marvelous art work.

GADI SAGAR LAKE
Gadi Sagar Lake is a beautiful lake situated outside the Jaisalmer city. Jaisalmer is located in the Thar desert, this lake is very important for Jaisalmer, as it stores the rain water and fulfills need of the water. lovely water tank located outside the city walls. The rain water is collected here and once held the town's water supply and befitting its importance in providing precious water to the inhabitants of this arid city, is surrounded by small temples and shrines. A wide variety of waterfowl flock here in winter. The tank was built by Maharaja Gadi Singh, taking the advantage of a natural declivity that already retained some water.

SAM SAND DUNES / KHURI SAND DUNES
Sam sand dunes are located only 45km away from Jaisalmer. The ideal place to experience the golden desert of Thar. Here you can see huge sand dunes changing shapes with the flow of wind. You can have a life time experience of a mind-blowing camel safari. You can stay overnight as there are so many tents offering accommodation with Rajasthani Folk music performances with bonfire.
